    Tine De Groote

    Tine De Groote (1976) is Commercial Marketing Director at the first division football club KV Oostende and started her career as Marketing Manager in the financial business. There she experienced the evolution from being sponsor to rightsholder by organizing the first 3 editions of the Optima Open (ATP Champions Tour) in Knokke.

    The past two years at Oostende were a rich experience partly due to the fact that there was a change of their president and owner of the club which also had an influence on the commercial operation and the sponsors. The biggest challenge she has is to encourage sponsors to activate their brand and to create a real ROI. Therefore she created a formal servicing process for sponsors at KV Oostende. Last year they won Rightsholder of the Year at the Belgian Sponsorship Awards thanks to this approach.

    Tine believes that sponsorship changes a lot and that you have to be creative and innovative as a rightsholder to live up to the expectations of the sponsors. She strongly believes that sponsorship has to be a part of marketing strategy and that it can have a big positive impact for brands. In her daily work she sees that sponsoring is becoming more mature every day, but that we still have a long way to go in Belgium. Tine is therefore extremely pleased to be part of initiatives such as the Belgian Sponsorship Awards.

    Sponsorship has grown to be a major part of the worlds of sport, arts and increasingly into the societal sphere. Our panel of judges span all these worlds and are united by a belief that sponsorship success can be measured, and that creative activation deserves to be highlighted. The Belgian Sponsorship Awards are a tribute to the talents of those working in Belgian sponsorship and are intended to inspire future generations with great examples of sponsorship best practice.
